After put face to face in a comparison with which for the moment remains the tablet Android star, ahora toca le the ZenPad 3S measured with the reference in quality/price ratio within the high-end (leaving aside the Asian low-cost, clear), who is none other than the 10-inch Huawei tablet : the MediaPad M2 10. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each of these points and what may be the best investment according to your needs or preferences? Let’s try to see him reviewing the specs of the two.
The first thing that must be said in favour of both is that, contrary to what is common in the territory of tablets, including the high-end, both come with metal case. Another detail that either is very frequent in tablets but that also will find in them two is the reader’s traces digital. A paragraph, however, in which the MediaPad M2 10 stands out especially is sound, but that probably interests us most take into account is that while the Asus tablet is designed to be used preferably in portrait mode, while Huawei’s is to be used in landscape mode.
There are that say that while its design prioritizes uses different, actually them proportions and the size of both are quite similar (24,23 x 16,42 cm facing 23.98 by 17.98 cm), and it same happens with the thickness (6.8 mm facing 7.4 mm) and the weight (490 grams facing 500 grams), paragraphs in which the advantage of the tablet of Asus actually is very short (mostly in the weight).
As we have just seen are the proportions of the tablets which have made its design geared to different uses, but this is mainly due to using different aspect ratios (4:3, optimized for reading, against 16:10, optimized for video playback). Another difference to have in has, in all case, at the time of choosing between both is the resolution, something more high in the tablet of Asus (2048 by 1536 front 1920 by 1200). The size, on the other hand, is virtually the same (9.7 inch front 10.1 inch).
(In the paragraph of performance, is imposes the cast of points: on the one hand, the tablet of Asus comes with more memory RAM (4 GB front 2 GB), something interesting if our main concern is the multitasking); on the other hand, the Huawei tablet mounts a more powerful processor (Snapdragon 650 of eight cores) and 1.8 GHz maximum frequency against Kirin 930 of eight cores and 2.2 GHz maximum frequency.
It comes out more clearly winning the ZenPad 3S in the paragraph of capacity of storage, with the double of memory ROM (32 GB front 16 GB). There is to say, in any case, that the two have micro-SDcard slot, which gives us the possibility of alleviating the deficiencies of space that we experience externally.
The MediaPad M2, on the other hand, gain in the camera section, at least with regard to the main (8 MP to 13 MP), because it is true that in making the front are tied (5 MP). Anyway, it is true that the average user will not benefit too from this advantage.
Waiting for the opinion of the independent tests, it must be said that the ZenPad 3S has input with a greater capacity (7800 mAh front 6600 mAh) battery, although it is possible that increased consumption that can be expected due to its higher resolution may also be determinant.
The first version of the ZenPad 3S 10 can be found for prices that vary enough from one distributor to another but that haunt, in general, the 400 euros. What we don’t know, on the other hand, is whether the new model will be something more expensive, something that seems unlikely. The MediaPad M2, on the other hand, can be found already for less than 350 euros, which gives it an attractive extra.
