Today we will face in our new OnePlus 3 one of the heavyweights of the low-cost Chinese: Redmi Note 3 Pro. It must be taken into account that the Xiaomi is more properly a mid-range model (my Note would perhaps be a more direct rival, but we prefer to wait for his successor to check it), while that of OnePlus aims to go a step further, but also the possible difference in specs will compensate with the price. The question, therefore, is going to be: is worth investment extra?
OnePlus 2 already comes with fingerprint reader and now also offers an elegant metal case instead of just a metal profile. Both are interesting characteristics of high-end, certainly, but we can also find them in the phablet of Xiaomi. All remains, therefore, which of the two we seem to each more attractive.
With regard to dimensions, we see that the two are very close, but there is to give advantage to one of the two, it would be the phablet of Xiaomi (15.27 x 7.47 cm front 15 x 7.6 cm), though this loses out, by very little in weight (158 grams against 164 grams) and, more clearly, in thick (7.35 mm compared with 8.7 mm).
Although the OnePlus 3 tries to compete with one foot already in the high range still maintains the resolution Full HD (1920 x 1080) first generation, which is tied with the Redmi Note 3 Pro, which is also the same size (5.5 inch) and, consequently, also the same density of pixels (401 PPI).
In the section on performance it is in which we will find with a stronger victory by the OnePlus 3 and is probably the main reason to opt for it: not only has a more powerful processor (Snapdragon 820 of eight cores) and 2.2 GHz six-core Snapdragon 650 and 1.8 GHzmaximum frequency, but it also has more memory (6 GB versus 2 or 3 GB RAM (, depending on the model).
It should not be a factor so important, on the other hand, the storage capacity, since it is true that OnePlus 3 has double the internal memory than the standard model of the Redmi Note 3 Pro (32 GB versus 16 GB), but also need to know if this is an important issue for us, there is a version of Xiaomi evening you phablet.
It also carries some advantage OnePlus 3 in the section on cameras, although mostly in regards to the front (8 MP facing 5 MP). In the main house, they are nonetheless equal in number of megapixels (16 MP), although it is true that the phablet of OnePlus has some extra point, as it is the case of the optical image stabilizer.
Autonomy is the section in which, on the contrary, stands out the Redmi Note 3 Pro, since your battery is much greater than the OnePlus 3capacity, with 4000 mAh to 3000 mAh. It is true that consumption is a factor just as important, so only use real tests will enable us to draw definitive conclusions, but the advantage to part the phablet of Xiaomi is overwhelming if we take into account that there is no significant difference in key paragraphs in this sense, as the screen size or resolution.
As you can see, the difference between the OnePlus 3 is big enough in any section, but not so much in others, and the difference in price with the Redmi Note 3 Pro is considerable: while the first will be sold for 400 euros, the second can be found quite easily by setting to 200 euros, although you know that you can fairly vary depending on the seller. Is, therefore, to assess how much it’s worth us paying for certain characteristics.
